Experience the magic of the Aurora with a small group.

On this tour, your entire focus will be on chasing the Northern Lights.

If the sky is cloudy, we’ll keep moving to different locations until we find a clear view of the Aurora. Sometimes, this may even mean traveling all the way to Finland! If the Northern Lights don’t appear during your Small or Private Group Chase, you’re welcome to join our larger bus Aurora Chase free of charge on another night, subject to availability.

Your guide will share intriguing facts about the Aurora Borealis and teach you photography tips to capture stunning images of the lights with your camera or phone.

The tour usually lasts between 4 to 8 hours, depending on how successful the night is.

Non Private: from NOK 2,300 per person (adult & child is the same price)
Private: from NOK 18,000 per group

Capacity: 5 to 14 guests

Inclusion:

  • Aurora Warranty: Free Tour on our Aurora Chase (coach based) if your Aurora Chase (Small Group) is unsuccessful.

  • Licensed Guides (professional photographers)
    Aurora Portraits: Web Resolution (high-resolution photographs available for purchase).
    Tripod (upon request).

  • Photography Support: Guidance and assistance to capture the Northern Lights with your camera/ phone.

  • Campfire Experience (weather permitting)

  • Dinner: Warm expedition food (vegan option available).

  • Snacks and Beverages: Cookies and hot chocolate/warm drinks (vegan options available).

  • Outdoor Gear: Thermal suits, spikes and headlamps

  • Drop Off: Hotels in Tromsø Sentrum or nearest bus/ taxi stop.

IMPORTANT INFO:

Minimum Group Size: Tours require at least 5 people. If fewer, your tour may be combined with a partner’s, rescheduled, or fully refunded.

Minimum Age: Suitable for children 5 years and older. Please provide age, height, and weight at booking to ensure proper thermal suits and child seats.

Cancellations: Tours can be canceled due to extreme weather, unsafe roads, or low group size. You’ll be offered rescheduling or a full refund. If weather is poor, you may opt to join our coach-based Aurora Chase for extra comfort—if you do, we’ll refund the price difference.

Aurora Warranty: Valid only for the booked winter season. It’s non-transferable, cannot be combined or refunded.

Notes & Restrictions

Child Safety: If you have a child with you, please provide the age and weight of child so that we can provide the correct child seat for the bus. You can be refused to travel if you don't have the correct child seat.

Cancellation Policy

Can vary from 48h to 20days before arrival date, depending on which booking you book with us. Information in your ticket may override information on this page.

FULL REFUND if you cancel your reservation:

  • 24 hours before arrival for Aurora chase tours after between April 10th and April 20th)

  • 48 hours before arrival for individual bookings, Fit, Sic, except if the tour is during the high season.

  • 4 days before arrival for individual bookings during the high season or a bank holiday. As well as bookings that include a discount or an offer.

  • 7 days before arrival for private tours and groups (8people or more) travelling on our scheduled tours.

  • 14 days before arrival for packages, tailor made tours or bookings that include multiple activities or partner activities, all year.

  • 20 days before arrival for some partner activities. Please check your ticket and send us an email if you are unsure about this.

  • Definition of “High season” = (Dec.19-Jan.9th), (Feb.7-27th) and all days that fall on a Bank holidays in Norway.

  • “Last minute” bookings are non refundable as they follow the policy above. Example: If a reservation is made within 48h to departure, that booking is non refundable and non reschedulable. (14days for tailor made itineraries).

  • Transaction fees/ booking fees / bank fees, may not be refunded for some of the payout methods that you choose upon checkout.

Refunds

  • In case of refund the money is returned primarily in the same way that was paid.

  • A puncture tire, or a vehicle stuck on an icy road are considered natural incidents and are not considered grounds for claiming a refund. A vehicle that is stuck on an icy road is often rescued in 2h. Please be mindful with regards to the team effort to make your trip pleasant and bring you back home safe. (Get familiar with the Arctic Nature and the Arctic Weather before traveling.)

  • Gift cards or bookings made via use of a gift card cannot be refunded. (More details in the “gift card” section below)


Magic Tromsø will not be held liable for any last-minute cancellation/change made by the tour provider. For cancellation and change requests, please contact the company directly. Details are provided in the confirmation email.

The 48 h cancellation policy doesn't apply unless the provider is contacted directly.
